B / Breakbulk cargo

Some types of ocean freight are unsuitable for storage in shipping containers, and carriers must instead load the items directly into the hold of a ship. When a ship carries goods in this way, loaded loosely into its interior holds, it is said to be carrying breakbulk cargo.
