S / Shipper’s letter of instruction

When entering into a shipping contract you must provide your freight forwarder or carrier with written authorization to issue a Bill of Lading or Air Waybill—and sign it on your behalf. You will provide this authorization using a document called a shipper’s letter of instruction.
