T / Twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU)

A measurement unit for calculating freight capacity and throughput. One TEU is equal to the dimensions of a standard 20-foot shipping container. A container vessel’s capacity is measured in TEUs. The unit is also used to measure the throughput of cargo in container ports.
