D / Deconsolidation

The separation of multiple shipments previously combined for shipment in a shipping container or as an air-freight load. Deconsolidation takes place when the container or aircraft arrives at the port of discharge. In ocean freight, deconsolidation may not occur at the port itself, but at a facility nearby.
