What is a known shipper in freight forwarding?

If you wish to ship cargo on passenger flights to, from, or within the United States, you must register with the TSA as a known shipper. If unregistered, you can only ship goods into or out of the USA, or domestically within the country, on dedicated cargo aircraft.
